Help! Lonely chick won't stop chirping!

I tried everything for the little fellow. I placed a mirror, stuffed animal and he had a heating lamp In there. I made sure of the temp with a thermometer. You guys are right. What it boiled down to is he was lonely and needed something I couldn't give him. He needed a momma hen. After...

24 week old Silkie Rooster wry neck?

How much Vitamin E am I suppose to give? At this point, I'm confused. I spend a lot of time with them, hours every day. How long does it typically take after starting treatment to see an improvement? I'm just super worried that this is something more than a vitamin deficiency. He seems to...

is it normal for a Cochin hen to be dominant? She definitely rules the roost and I've seen her mating with another hen. I know that they will do that sometimes for dominance too tho.

    Need help identifying

I bought this chicken at a trade day and told it was a female Cochin. I'm super new at having chickens and have only dealt with silkies in the past. He/she has never crowed until I brought home a new rooster. I've since gotten rid of the rooster and haven't heard any Crowing. Any help...

My rooster was killed and now my flock is confused

I have a small flock of Silkies. I had one rooster and 3 hens, with several new chicks. My rooster was attacked, I believe by a raccoon or possum and was killed. I am very new at having chickens and really unsure as what to do? My poor little hens seem so lost and confused and won't...

    Snakes Kill Chickens!

I too just had my first encounter with a very large rat snake. It came searching for eggs and in the process killed several of my baby chicks and one that was 18 - 20 weeks. He didn't eat them, just killed them. Luckily, I was able to put on my big girl pants and get him out of the coop...
