    Rescued Mute Male

I got a mute male today that was about to be destroyed because he was aggressive toward other swans and waterfowl. They had a trio of mutes, a pair of black necks, and a pair of blacks and numerous ducks and geese. A few weeks one of the mutes from his trio died due to injuries from him. He...

    Show off your Peas!

This is my first peachick ever and I am head over heels in love! Who knew 10 days ago that I would be so smitten with a little bundle of feathers? We set 4 eggs- 2 were clear, 1 late quitter and this little cutie! They were the first eggs of the laying season, so I am guessing the 2 clear...

I ordered frizzles from McMurry and one of the little hens I have looks like this. Poor thing. I thought something was wrong with her. 2 other hens looked fine until recently. They have no feathers on their head and seem that they are loosing them on their body now. What do you think?

    New in Mississippi

I have been lurking for a while, never joined a "forum" or group before. Have an addiction to feathered friends! Saw another member post that said chickens were like potato chips, can't have just one... I'd like to amend that to Can't have just one breed! I love them all!

Comment by 'just1morechick' in article 'How To Incubate Hatch Eggs Using The Dry Incubation Method'

I seem to be drowning my chicks :( I do not have a turner, I turn by hand. What suggestions/modifications do you have for a "manual turner" other than buying a turner? Our first hatch was by far our best. We had about a 90% hatch. Since then, hatch rates have declined drastically. We now have 2...
