Summer 2012 I purchased fertile eggs. I was told they were Ameracauna but I don't think so. That's not a problem. I just wanted blue/green eggs. My girls are 29 weeks old and haven't started to lay yet. Would they lay the same color egg they were hatched in?
I put the "bully" in with the hen and chicks last night. The other two were scared and ran around but I watched them. The Bully didn't pay attention to them. I will keep checking to make sure they are getting along and adjust as needed.

In light of the recall for Purina http://www.purinamills.com/news/recall-information.aspx I was wondering what is the difference in the various brands of chicken feed? I've only heard of Purina, Nutrena and "generic" whatever the feed store has at the time. Is there really a difference to them?
They are confined in a brooder. No acess to the ground. If I gave them all medicated feed, would it harm the hen in anyway? This is my first time having a hen raise the chicks. I haven't decided when or if I will seperate her from the chicks. They are a month old. I have been feeding them...
