Aww. That's a shame. Will you let her try it again? I just did the same with one of my hens. I let her keep one egg. I had a fear of that happening. I'm sure that was heartbreaking for you.
i have a broody hen who just hatched her first chick. I separated her and brought her in the house after hatching Bec The set up that we have I was worried the chick would get out the coop door and not be able to get up the steps. So my question is. They have been inside for two days now. And no...
I was wondering what everyone uses in their droppings board. I know a lot of people just use the board and scrape it. I was planning on using the kitty little scoop method and wanted to know the best "sand" to use in it.
Thanks guys for any info/suggestions.
I had originally thought the extent of the feather loss was due to too many roosters. But they have been separated for almost a month now and I have noticed more loss on two since then. Thankyou very much. Your info eased my mind a bit. The feather loss is fairly bad in my opinion. I will just...
Well one is a buff orphington and the others are a mix that my cousin hatched and kind of dumped on me so the breeds are questionable. I got the orphington in the spring as biddies lost all but her and the rooster to a coon. The others were hatched a few months later.
I have had our chickens for almost a year now and it's winter time now. Mine have not molted, egg production is great but is it normal for them to not molt at all?
Also half my hens are bald on their little heads, parts of wings and sides due to mating. We had too many roosters but have since...
She was inside about a month. She had a pretty bad wound. The flocks were not together pre attack. There is one rooster remaining from her original flock. She does fine with that one. I tried to introduce her by letting them mingle in the yard. Previous they were separated but right next to each...
Hello I am new to chickens. We've already had a raccoon attack. I had to nurse one hen back to health. She survived and is ok however we had to keep her inside for quite some time. We have two batches one I bought and one was hatched for me a few weeks after purchasing. The purchased batch were...
Whoa whoa guys. Easy on the little states. We're around. Delaware born and raised! New to chickens though. Was just out in the yard starting the run for my little coop.
