Thanks for your reply. I typed the post in such a hurry I put degrees instead of percent. To much on my mind.

Incubating Guinea eggs for the first time

I have 38 Guinea eggs in a Farm Innovator circulated air 4200 Pro Series with an egg turner. The eggs have been in the incubator for 9 days. The water evaporates completely every day and the humidity stays between 57 - 60 degrees. The humidity doesn't drop below 57 degrees until I open the...

    Problem with Small Silkie

I have 11 Silkie chicks ranging in age from 5 to 10 weeks. One of the smaller ones has become sick (or injured) in the last 3 days. Its feet have drawn up and sometimes it twists it head completely upside down. I have still been able to get it to eat and drink a little. Does anyone know what...

    Pellets vs crumbles

Will Silkies eat pellets? If so, how old do they have to be to switch from crumbles? Will there be less waste with pellets? I have just started with Silkie chicks about a month ago, and I am having a lot of wasted feed.

    Cute, Ugly, Pretty

I am new to raising silkie chicks. I was wondering how long the ugly stage between cute and pretty lasts? I only have 12 chicks, and they are in the first two stages. At what age do I get to see the last stage? Please post some pics if you have them.

    100% Diatomaceous Earth

Is 100% DE safe to use instead of sand in a small 2X4 Brooder? I read a post from 2011 which stated that it was safe to use, and safe for the chicks to eat.

    Brooder to Run

I have 10 Silkie chicks ranging from 3 weeks to approximately 6 weeks (maybe a few weeks older). I have them in a 2ft by 4ft enclosed brooder with a 250 watt red lamp on them 24-7. I have an opening at one end to allow them to go into the chicken run if the so desire. After a couple of days none...
