Problem with Small Silkie

I have 11 Silkie chicks ranging in age from 5 to 10 weeks. One of the smaller ones has become sick (or injured) in the last 3 days. Its feet have drawn up and sometimes it twists it head completely upside down. I have still been able to get it to eat and drink a little.
Does anyone know what causes this, and is it a sickness that is contagious to the other chicks? If this is not a sickness, has the chick
been stepped on or pecked?
Is there any hope for this little guy or is it just a matter of time.
I would appreciate any help or advice than can be offered.

It sounds like the chick may have a vitamin deficiency and wry neck. You should get some vitamins, either special poultry vitamins or Poly Vi Sol infant vitamins (without iron) from a supermarket. Give the vitamins for a week or so, and see if there's any improvement.
