My chicks came in. Hopefully everything goes well, this is our first time with chicks. Butts are clean, they seem warm enough and they've discovered their food.
Has anybody had their chicks arrive at their post office in the afternoon? My chicks still haven't arrived, my overnight delivery tracking has not updated and I had to cancel my plans for the afternoon. Extremely frustrating.
This is driving me nuts! past 7 am and no call yet, it does say delivery today but it hasn't updated since last night. At least they let me get a full night's sleep. (I am hoping that they call and I can get them before it starts to pour out)
I'm very excited about my order with MPC! We decided Easter Eggers would be a good start for chickens (and we have a small city limit until we can move in a few years) so we're getting four that hatch tomorrow!
I'm nervous at the same time though, my first time raising chicks (and chickens!)...
Mine will ship April 6th. We decided we wanted to start smaller, so we ordered 4 Easter Eggers from My Pet Chicken. These will be our first chickens. (We were going to go out of state but we really wanted less than 6.)
I can't fall to chicken math though; I have a tiny city yard.
Thank you!
Lots of suggestions from our local homeschool community (a lot of chicken keepers) and I have chosen Fleming's Feed in Preston CT based on the pullets that they have. :) (We are central RI so had both states open to us.)
Hi; I'm Kathy from RI. I am 32 years old and married with 3 kids, the youngest of which is almost three. We homeschool our two older girls. We live on a small city lot with the legal limit being six (and no roosters) and anticipate getting a small coop and a few chickens this year.
I honestly...
I am from Coventry as well. (Small world!) We haven't even started to set stuff up. Rhode Island has a 12 chick minimum and Coventry has a 6 chicken maximum so we are considering driving up to Ventura Grain in Taunton MA.
