Other than from local breeders of course. This question has been bugging me for a while. Are you guys allowed to purchase chicks from other countries? Do you have hatcheries that you purchase from? Do agricultural supply stores carry them?

Yeah I actually have health anxiety so I always worry about this stuff haha. There does seem to be some confusing information - it survives best in moist soil but it's spread by dust? From what I'm reading though it seems chickens can't carry it internally.

I have a bald frizzle and I heard that people have had success with supporting feather growth by mixing game bird feed with chicken feed to support feather growth. I was wondering if instead of buying two different bags I could just buy a bag of mixed flock feed

The dosing on Safeguard goat dewormer is 1/4th cc or 0.25 ml per lb. when given orally to chickens, right? And what is the egg withdrawal period for this method?

That’s what I was thinking as well, though it’s a much further drive to get that.

I noticed that my new chicken has mites, and I’m wondering if I should either A. bathe her in flea shampoo and then dust her and her coop/run with DE or B. get something stronger like poultry dust.

They are solid! And actually most do seem to be black, so perhaps it was something she ate. I think I’ll add some apple cider vinegar to her water this evening. At the moment she seems a little bit better - she’s actually scratching at the food on the ground.

Just took a closer look at her poo and it’s dark green.

Actually looking closer that’s from a nest pad she has in her box! I got a very brief look at her mouth and didn’t see anything. Nothing unusual about her walk as far as I can tell.
