Ok we cleaned the eye with gauss, and saline. Either we were too chicken or there wasn’t a lot of puss. We squeeze from different angles but nothing really came out except a little from the corner. We will try again tomorrow I guess but here’s some close ups of his eye and before and after...
Thanks. Like I said I won’t be able to get anything till Friday sadly as Yom Kippur starts in a few hours (it’s the holiest day of the year in israel, everything is shut down) so I’ll do what I can till then and give him antibiotic herbs and such in his water
Hey everyone. Yesterday I noticed my RIR rooster’s left eye was extremely swollen and the eye looks a bit grey. He also seems to not be able to hold his head completely stable, but he had a neck injury a few months ago.

So went out this morning to give vitamins, and he was walking around pretty normally. Still noticeably slower but not on his hocks 🤷🏼♀️
still gave him the b vitamins and added brewers yeast to the feed.
Feeding them chick starter from my breeder. They are a fenced in run in my yard so they can scratch and peck. They get mealworms once a week and just gave them some sprouts this week for the first time. I will separate it tomorrow.

Where we live our greenest most vegetation filled times are over the winter and early spring. From mid May-late Oct we see no rain. Even with watering parts of our property there isn’t much that grows this time of year.

The chickens are free, we don’t have a run because we have the space. And yes....my 3 year old can get through the sizes i mentioned. I watched him do it

I see the recommended coop door size is 10x10. How small can I go so that my kids won’t be able to climb in and out? Current door is 10x16
