Update...on Monday we found a dead emu chick outside of Edward's nest and an egg that appeared to have been stepped on with a chick inside outside of nest..Edward had kicked out a few more of the eggs and they were cold...he was sitting on 15.we took 4 eggs out from under him that were warm and...
This is so crazy..after he got off the nest and we pulled out the eggs he started sitting on the next egg the female layed. He now has eight eggs under him..all layed 3 days apart so there is a 21 day difference between the first and last egg and female is still laying and he is still grabbing...
Hmmm. While the male (Edward) was sitting and the female (Edwina) continued too lay..he would scoop up the egg and put it in his nest..I had the bright? Idea of marking the eggs in the nest so any new egg I could pull out and drain and use for crafts..believing it to be infertile...it was...

Thanks for info! Unfortunately we didn't know he had left the nest until it was too late to put in our incubator. Supposedly he is around 6 years old..we are the 3rd home of his so I don't have any background info,,,,the female is still laying every third day but I don't think they are...
