Hey there
New to chickens this year
We have a bunch of roosters and they are about 18 weeks old
They are starting to develop red spots kind of in a line from there feet up there legs
Should I be worried?
Hey there
I am just north of barrie Ontario and we have pretty wet springs/summers and cold winters
Now that be said I have an uncovered run for my chickens and I am not sure what to put down
It is just dirt right now ass my bird destroyed the grass
The run is about 20x16 feet
thanks
Thanks
We have rir mixed with isa chickens
And thanks for all the info! My husband is going to be butchering the extra roosters to feed the family ( I just hope we don’t get to attached! My kids love them already,
But we have been telling them from day 1 that we would be eating any extra...
Hey I bought 12 chicks and I think over 8 are roosters so we are going to cull them
We are just trying to figure out what age we should wait until as well as because there is so many roosters and only a few hens should I be separating them? will that many rooster hurt my few hens?
First time chicken owner here
we bought 12 unsexed chicks and obviously we were hoping for mostly females but I think it turned out to be the other way around
Can anyone tell me if we Even have females?
And if so guess how many?
As well and what age do you butcher the extra males?
I tried to...
We are planning to keep 1 or 2 and then not sure either butcher them or rehome them.
More than likely butcher If we can they are Rhode Island Red mixed with isa reds
They can be eaten right?
Hey there
We are just finishing our coop and we have built a walk in one for easier cleaning and we are trying to figure out what is the best to put on the floor?
Straw or sand?
And in the run can we just leave it grass or should we have it sand or straw as well? Or any other ideas
thanks
Kate🤗
