    Avian influenza?

I can feel some of it breaking up, but there are harder balls of stuff that won’t soften.

    Avian influenza?

The liquid seems to be moving, but the solids won’t budge. Today she had no appetite for the coconut oil either. Not looking good.

    Avian influenza?

Do you know anything about docusate sodium stool softener for chickens with impacted crops? I have a girl who I think has that and the massage and oil method isn’t working.

    Avian influenza?

I’ll see tomorrow. But I haven’t been very worried about her crop so much as her breathing. This is the first day in the last few that she has been hungry. Tomorrow will tell how much she’s improving i think.

    Avian influenza?

Just an update. Her eyes and nose and mouth are still clear. She has a bit more of an appetite today and is preening herself and alert. Started singing to me when I went out to see her today. Still a bit raspy in her breathing, but overall I’m seeing improvement. Her poops are more solid today...

Sick chicken - green & yellow poo

Which antibiotic would you have recommended? I have a hen I’m worried about and she’s got a bit of a breathing noise going on, too.

    Avian influenza?

So she ate some food today, which was nice, and she preceded to poop on my lap. Still some raspiness in her breathing, and her poop is green and white with some yellow. The green is kinda mucusy.

Enrofloxacin— that’s like, Baytril, right? What kind of dosage per pound of chicken?

Soft and relatively empty. Not filled up like a water balloon at all.

    Avian influenza?

I agree. It’s very tough making that choice, because I would hate to have it lose its effectiveness on the mites.

    Avian influenza?

This hen is the one I’m most worried about. She shows mild interest in food, but then seems to spit up when she bends over too long. She is also the one I noticed with the raspy breathing.

    Avian influenza?

This is a dropping I found today from my most worrisome hen that I put in isolation yesterday. No eating.
