I'm going to buy a Genesis 1588 incubator and have found that Cutler's Supply has the cheapest prices. I would appreciate your input into this company. I've never ordered from them before. Are they reliable? Customer service? etc.
My chicks just hatched yesterday. Two of them are having trouble walking. One foot is fine and one foot turns in. They look like they are trying to walk on their leg joint. They can get around, but mostly they just lie down. What can I do? What is this? What is the cause? They seem to be...
I only hatch once a year for school. I've used my LG for 3 years now and have to watch the temps. constantly. This year I tried covering the entire incubator with a towel and the temps. stay very consistent. I was skeptical at first because I thought it would raise the temp. but it stays...
I'm grateful for any help. I understand that I would have better results with a more expensive bator. Problem is I only do 1 hatch a year and the school doesn't pay for the incubator. As long as the temp doesn't get too high (102+), how much a variant of temps is going to be OK?
I've got an LG styrofoam incubator that I plan to use one a year to hatch chicks at school. It seems that the temp fluctuates, a lot. Like from 96 to 102 and I haven't changed a thing. Is this normal? Pretty hard to keep it at 100 when it changes so much. HELP!
My eggs are due to hatch this Wednesday (Apr. 7th). Will it hurt the eggs if I stop turning them Sat. night. It's a little earlier than I have done that in the past but I will be out of town and will not be able to "lockdown" on Sunday.
I just set my eggs yesterday morning. This morning I noticed that one of them is cracked. It has a small crack on the side similar to a pip. Should I leave it in or should I discard it? Will a cracked egg hatch?
I've just picked up my chick eggs from a hatchery. Do I need to let them sit awhile before I put them in the incubator? I've been very careful not to jiggle them. If I need to let them sit, how long?
