White Silkie chick with light coloured feet? Help!!

Nope, but they do meet breed standard. Blue earlobes, 5 toes, blueish black skin, mulberry wattles and pure white colour. I'm not sure what went wrong because they hatched out 18 chicks this month as well and all have black feet. Silkies genetics are so difficult to understand so Im a bit lost

Chick with pasty butt, bum now hard and veru lethargic. Help!!!

Hi all, This chick was a sickly one from hatch. It's been a week or so since hatch and she can't eat or drink alone so we have to force feed her. We fed her yesterday in the evening around 6-7pm and left her in the brooder. It is now 10am the next day and she got a severely clogged vent from...

chick with unabsorbed yolk sac and insides coming out!!

Hiya just for an update, the chick survived that stage. It absorbed the yolk and the area closed up. The chick was however very weak and a 1/4 the size of its batchmates. It could not eat, drink and had breathing issues. I gave it a week to try and catch up but no progress. I decided to cull it...

Help! I think my new chick has a hernia.

Awhh poor chick, I'm surprised he lasted that long. Usually they die within a few hours with this much yolk being left unabsorbed. Sorry for your loss ☹️

Hip/joint issue? Spraddle leg? Slipped tendon? Help with newly hatched chick!

Hiya how did the chick get on? To me it looked like spaddle leg not a slipped tendon (usually the legs turns around more in an odd position). This case looks like it could've been resolved with bandage and a loose sock. I would suggest doing leg stretches and feeding some egg yolk and...

Buff Orpington chicks with black spots

Hi everyone I know this thread is ancient but I really need help differentiating between my Buff orp and RIR chicks. I have 1 buff orp in with a couple RIRs. The one I am suspecting to be a buff orp has black spotting on its head and whiteish feet. It is the only one that fits the desc of a orp...

How to differentiate buff orpington chicks for RIR chicks??

I read that buff orp chicks can have tiny black spots on their head which will feather out to be a darker buff colour? Perhaps this chick is not a high quality buff orp but it is the only one with white feet. It does have a tinge of yellow but not a lot as seen in the pic. The only other one...
