She hasn’t actually lost any feathers yet, she is probably about to start molting, my other domestic ducks have almost finished their molt! She is very dark on her back, and on her belly. Could she possibly be so grumpy because she is in molt? She has had a broody attitude for about 2 months now...
Hello! My muscovy female has become much lighter over the past months, she was a dark brown but now she’s almost white. I know her feathers are lighter from getting sun bleached. However, i posted a photo of her today comparing her to what she looked like a few months ago and one of my friends...
They are doing wonderful! I think it was just the eggs we fed them. They both grew up to be boys (wonderful ) and are very happy. They have no heath issues! I hope you have no problems with your girls!
Turns out she was broody. She started setting on her nest a few days after I made this post! We decided to keep her off the nest though because we don’t need more ducks and we don’t want her sitting their for so long, it’s not good for her! She’s doimg much better now!
We give her nutritional yeast everyday, I will tell my mom to get some vitamins.
I definitely think part of this is caused by stress.
Our female Muscovy Emma is very bossy and controlling of her, she doesn’t let her eat or drink, so we have to keep her away so miracle can eat and drink.
Hello, my 5-6 month old Muscovy girl has been acting very odd this past week.
She recently started tweeting/peeping, and she never trills anymore.
She keeps her neck scrunched up and her feathers fluffed up, and her tail is always pointing down.
When I ask people they say “oh she’s fine”
Her name is miracle! We rescued her as a baby, she was drowning, no mamma or siblings around, and she couldn’t get out of the water. She’s always been tame! She bites us when we pet her on her back or tail though
