My chicken actually is currently having the same problem. She was fine and then half and hour later she was lying on the ground not able to move, her comb was bleeding, and eye closed shut.
We determined (after a seemingly long episode of detective) that a hawk must have tried to get her but...
To clarify: we have the chicks in a large enclosing outside with chicken wire and a barrier of chicken wire at night. So they are seeing each other but go at each other when they are out
