DISCLAIMER, I know, I'm sorry this is a platform for backyard chickens, but I'm in a goat crisis! I've heard bad things about straw and shavings to use as bedding for my goats, saying that they'll eat it and bloat. What do you use? Should I keep them on dirt or put down some other type of bedding?
The chickens are sitting happy right now! I'm getting more eggs than I can handle, and I have sold some of my eggs in the past to a few people around who wanted more fresh, natural eggs. However, my chickens have been laying a lot lately, and I don't want my eggs to go bad! Does anybody have any...
Awesome! Mottled cochins are on my chicken wish list but have never gotten around to raising any! I do have a mottled java hen, and she's a real sweetheart, but they're just not the same:(
Thanks so much. I've been walking briskly at him every time I feel threatened, just to let him know that he's not the only one who can attack. It seems to be working. Sorry to hear about your rooster, they sure are pretty birds.
