Welsummer Cockerel - Bantam or Standard

Hi! Okay, so I don't have pictures right now (sorry, I know they're helpful). I have a Welsummer Cockerel. I bought him as a chick out of an Assorted Straight Run Bantam bin. I didn't think that he was actually a bantam though, because he was the size of my standard chicks. Now, he's fully...

Large Chicken Coop Bedding, What Do I Use?!?!!

Lol, I wish! I could keep up to 100 happy and healthy standard chickens. However, my mom has forbid me from buying any more chicks, fertile eggs, or chickens. She also doesn't think my chickens will live long. I am making every effort to make sure they not only live, but thrive. I'm hoping that...

Large Chicken Coop Bedding, What Do I Use?!?!!

Hi everyone :) So I had to move the chicks into their side of the old milk house early. It took a full day to get their side ready (they were already kicked out of the house though). The floor is solid concrete. I have sections for them to sleep with pine shavings, but the majority of the floor...

Large Chicken Coop Bedding, What Do I Use?!?!!

Hi there! Okay, so I just got my first small flock ever, 9 chicks. They've been in the back of the house for four weeks and I'm not quite finished with the coop. This is a before picture of the coop. It's an old milk shed that is divided into two parts. My dilemma is that the coop is OVER 400...

I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I'm still not sure about Lossi. The chick markings were definitely female. However, if Lossi ends up being a roo, it'll be a ratio of 2 roosters to 7 hens, I don't think it'll be that bad ( ), but hopefully Vix is my only Roo :P

I was hoping Lossi would turn out to be a hen with just a large comb :/ But at around 4-5 weeks old I guess Lossi is a boy. Name change coming up.

Oh! That looks just like Lossi did when she/he was a chick! (Checked out Cackle Hatchery for pics) Thank you! It's a bit easier to do research on sexing chicks once a breed is established. That's how I figured out Vix was a cockerel. I used the RIR sexing tips. I sort of thought Vix was going...

Hi! Thank you for your reply, however, the Partridge Rock chicks don't look like #4 when he/she was a chick. #4 looked more like a chipmunk.
