Buff Orpington “roosters”
We bought 6 pullets of 3 breeds in the spring and since the hatchery sends roosters of unknown varieties for “warmth” we decided to just buy Buff Orpington roosters and feed them out as meat birds. They’re now 18 weeks old and haven’t heard a peep or crow from the buff Orpingtons. Is this normal?- KevinT

Bad wrap for Cornish cross/Cornish rocks
We raise Cornish Cross for meat birds and on pasture in a tractor moved 3 times a day for 3-4 weeks. We feed 12 hours on and 12 hours off with 22% protein. How to decrow a rooster
Grind them all up? hmm 5 must have missed that as i received 5 of them. Yes starting to crow but in another 10 weeks or so that won't be happening.- KevinT

starting to build coop and run
We haven't finished the coop and run but the total run area a will be 25x25. I plan on building a 3 sided dirt floor using deep litter that is 10x8. The coop will be inside the run and the whole area will be fenced including the top along with hardware cloth buried approx. 1.5 feet deep. does...- KevinT
