Ancona ducklings!! So flippin' cute!! Anyone have any?

Browsing Facebook I found a breeder in Louisiana that has these beautiful ducklings and was considering getting a pair. Does anyone have these ducks? Are they aggressive, clean, eat a lot, etc. If I purchased they would be with my runner ducks. Check them out they have some beautiful ducks...

    Duck pool/pond. Show me yours!

I caught this bad boy on "end of summer sale" for $9 and had to get it for my babies! We're moving soon and plan on digging them a small pond with some type of pump to keep water circulating.(hopefully this last until then) It's nothing really fancy, but they seem to be enjoying their upgrade...

Is my Pekin drake really a Runner breed?!?

Thanks! Ha. The geese don't bully them, they get along great believe it or not. The geese just don't like being played with and run when we come close. I guess when the ducks noticed the geese would always avoid us, they kinda followed suit. They think they're as big as the geese half the time...

Is my Pekin drake really a Runner breed?!?

This is my little guy! He's so cute! My two ducks use to be so sweet and cuddly until my geese came along but he got put of the pool long enough to take a picture ha. (I think that's why he was fussing me )

    Dead duck

Nice to meet you! I had this problem a few nights ago. The first night he got a goose then came back a second night and got my male black runner! And my geese are huge... I was very puzzled as well. The only thing the predator ate was the neck and fooled with the head and on my duck he took a...

Is my Pekin drake really a Runner breed?!?

Long story short.....I purchased a Pekin duck this past Easter. A few months ago he started turning khaki in some spots but I didn't pay it any extra attention. Well the spots spread, a lot. Ha. So earlier I was on a thread for runner duck owners and saw white/khaki ducks that look just like...

Can someone tell me the genders

The two signs sour land mentioned I used as well. It does take a little while for the drake feather to really curl but on my two males (now 1) the drake feather almost curled all the way over. And you can certainly tell when they make noise. The "quack" that is associated with ducks only comes...

Will Ducks mate with different breeds?

Thanks for the answer! I bought them as hatchlings. I had a male and female pekin and same with black runner. The female pekin came up missing about a month after we got them. Since then the male pekin has always stayed to himself. The mate to my black runner was killed a few nights ago so it...

Will Ducks mate with different breeds?

I have a male pekin and a female black runner. The females mate was killed a few nights ago and I was just curious if the pekin would mate with her? And if so does that cause any issue to the egg or hatchling? She has never laid eggs before (I got them this past Easter) but it may not be until...

2 killings, 2 days-necks eaten, feathers pulled through fence? HELP!!

And I know it's nothing fancy but this is the pallet house I started today. Tomorrow I'll finish her up and line the holes all the way to top like I stared at bottom and make a good door. I can't wait to put it in the pen and see them in it!

2 killings, 2 days-necks eaten, feathers pulled through fence? HELP!!

I now know what it is! It's a coon! It's now almost 11:30 and I came out to check on them and heard some strange scratching noise so I hurried up and caught him jumping over the fence. I can't imagine how he gets in but he uses the dog igloos to hop out. Thank goodness I had already locked them...

2 killings, 2 days-necks eaten, feathers pulled through fence? HELP!!

Thank you so much! I have a very very large dog kennel and I closed them in it for the night. It's completely sealed in except for the front door which is fenced so I set many large things in front of door to make sure to keep the killer out. Haha. (My husband will probably see in the morning...

2 killings, 2 days-necks eaten, feathers pulled through fence? HELP!!

Long story short I have 3 Chinese geese, 2 black runner ducks. This morning woke up and my critters weren't playing in pool as usual, thought something was off but had an early appointment so I had to leave. Come home and husband said he found female goose (full grown) dead with only her neck...
