She won't let us touch her. I will get an egg count once she moves to go eat. Will it hurt the eggs to get cold once she leaves to eat? How many should I leave under her?
Also is it to cold to let her hatch them. I live in Pennsylvania. Should I bring the chick's in under a heat lamp once they do hatch or will they be ok with her? Sorry for all the questions. I'm new at this.
I found one of my black star hens sitting on her eggs in the rafters of our shed. Should I let her stay or try to move them. I would like to let her hatch them but I'm concerned about the location. I don't want the chick's to fall when they hatch. HELP!!!!
We have had him maybe 3 months. When we first got him he escaped our fenced not coop area and stayed one for 2 days. He will run from us :( but he he does love his ladies. We currently have black stars and red Ranger hens with him.
I love my chickens:) we had a red Ranger rooster but something got in the coop and killed him. :( we where so sad. Yes red Rangers are fryer chickens but they lay very large brown eggs. We can't bring ourselves to kill them for the meat.
Our black stars just started laying. They are such great...
Hi everyone my name is Kennita. We just moved to PA about a year ago. We decided to start raising chickens. We have 4 red Rangers and 6 black star hens. We love our flock!!! We raised all our hens from chick's and they are all laying now :)
