Chick not eating, drinking and listless

We have the same sort of medicated chick crumb in Australia and I had been using it on my previous hatches. My local feed store ran out of it and I had to get some unmedicated crumb for this hatch - obviously the stuff works pretty well as this hatch is the only lot I've had trouble with. Lesson...

Chick not eating, drinking and listless

Here's an update on my chicks. It's now 5 days since I started the meditation and all chicks (even the sick one) are doing really well. I separated the sick one for 24 hours so she had uninterrupted access to food and water, overnight she picked up a lot so put her back with the others the next...

Hi and welcome. Where abouts down south are you, I'm near Oatlands. Do you want to incubate and hatch your own or buy young chickens? I hatched all mine (only have 5 so far) in my incubator so I could give you the contact details of who I got the eggs from. Otherwise I don't have any other...

I will sell some when they're a bit older and start reproducing. Here in Tasmania there aren't any foxes - some people have said they've seen some but it's general opinion there aren't any. We have Quolls, hawks and eagles that all kill chickens but I've been very fortunate and never had any...

To be to be honest I've never shown chickens so don't really know if they're show quality. Of course they're gorgeous to me, do you know of anywhere I could find a guide to show points and standards? I've got Black's, Blues and splashes with an abundance of Cockerels at the moment!

Thank you so much. It's sounds exactly like what's going on. I'm on my way out to get some medication now. I'll keep you posted on how things go

Chick not eating, drinking and listless

I need some help. I have a hatch of 13 chicks that are 7 weeks old. I lost 1 Faverolle chick last week for no apparent reason, she stopped eating and lost condition rapidly and died within 2 days. This morning I noticed one of the Salmon Faverolle pullets is not eating or drinking and is just...

Hi everyone, I'm a new member from Tasmania in Australia. I currently have a mixture of Faverolle, Barnevelder, Australorp and Plymouth Rock chicks ranging in age from 1 week to 5 months old. I have 68 at the moment but that will change as I reduce the flock for breeding once they've grown up a...
