Algae can be different colors, usually not harmful to fish. May be over feeding or intense light. What killed the fish is most likely from not cycling the tank.
Well, new girl (Wilma) is getting used to things, the girls aren’t chasing her off as much and she doesn’t isolate herself now. Ralphie seems to leave her be. Last night she went to the coop at night on her own, it was great not fishing her out of a tree! She keeps her distance from me though...
That’s funny, sometimes they seem smart and other times completely bird brained 😂 We live in a rural community. Everyone has 2-5 acres or more. Most are completely fenced in like us, so you really can’t go door to door. However I didn’t post flyers or anything 🤔
Someone said Andalusian, seems...
Was I wrong to not let them be? I hate to steal someone’s birds but they wouldn’t leave. On both of them I checked for mites and normal looking poops before letting them in. I understand there could be illnesses that I can’t detect or show up later but…🤞
You know I thought the same thing even when the rooster showed up. Another reason I waited to let them in, thinking at night they’d go home. I mean chickens go home at night right? I didn’t want to steal anyone’s birds but they were not safe. I posted on the only local website I have (Nextdoor)...
Yes I have no comfortable way to quarantine but since my flock was already exposed (most likely) I took a chance. Fingers crossed 🤞 Thanks for the kind words.
All is well with him it seems. It’s been a month now. A couple of the gals are still resistant to his “love” 😂 but getting there. Not sure if you saw my other post about a new hen? 😩 She just showed up too. Not sure if she knows the rooster. It was the same situation with her hanging around...
It’s sad what people do. How kind of you to take on the cats and the kittens. Predators and weather soften my heart too. 😊 We shall see how it goes. I literally have no room after this one.
Exactly what I’m thinking 😂
Thanks for identifying her breed! She looks to be older than my girls but I’m not sure. They’ll be two in February. Never had strays before but have only lived here under 4 years. With the rooster this is two in a month. She’s now in with the rest while I monitor. It’s not ideal but…we shall...
Forgive me as I’m new to roosters and just acquired a stray…is this normal? That’s like 3” long? Mine is young I believe but wondering if I need to look forward to this? Thanks.
