I am interested in this, too. If I am keeping chickens as pets (which I am, with the benefit of eggs!), then the $30-40 is very reasonable. I would only be interested in this is it would stop aggressive behaviour and crowing. If it doesn't fix that, then my probable 3 baby roosters I have right...

No wattles, thinner legs, less upright posture. Not pecking at others. S/he has a long tail, but may be a phoenix? The roo is a cochin, silver laced...
I know that chicks don't need grit, but my 4 week old chicks have very full crops on a diet of only medicated chick feed. It won't hurt them if i give them some grit, will it? They ate it up very quickly. Don't remember if my previous chicks had full crops at this age...
