    I put out our 4 wk olds to live with a little barred rock hen, whose toes fell off last month?, she loves the company and they all huddle together under the lamp at night. The little ones just fly around stretching, they are happy out there.

    I put sulfur powder around the pens at the edge of the woods, anything else I can use? We get pairs of black snakes around which otherwise we like, we live in rat and mouse country.

    I just set up 2 this weekend. I will take pix as soon as I get home tonite. The chickens took right to them. Had to put one lower for my shorties.

    Ok so our power went out and the bator dropped to 70 before we got it to my moms and plugged it up. About 3 days out for quail eggs to hatch and 5 til chicken eggs to hatch. Nervous wrecks. What kind of emergency set up is easiest?

    yviGurgling and Drooling

    One hen is gurgling when she drinks, and sounds like she is snoring at night. Drooling a little bit. I gave her antibiotic eye drops and vet RX on her head and polyvisol. Seems like sometimes she feels fine and then starts sounding funny. The others are fine.

    Ours love the canned mackerel, 69 cents a can just dump it on the ground! They go crazy.

    Anyone know how to convert temp F to % humidity? Hatching out first batch from this Styrofoam incubator and we want to use a cabinet type but it has 2 identical manual read thermometers.
