Sometimes they take a day or two over 28, and muscovy eggs take 35; duck x muscovy eggs take around 32.
If the duck is away for more than about half an hour, the eggs will die of cold.
Hope that helps!
Looks all good. Just watch that when they get they don't jump over the side! Also, it might be nice to have a selection of different breeds rather than have all the same one.
Generally chickens leave poisonous plants alone, unless it is the only one available. Don't go stripping your garden of life, just next time you're planting try to avoid poisons. Try adding some edible plants, or lower your amount of poisons, if you're worried.
My suggestion: leave the female guineas with the female chickens. You should make a full time coop for the roosters as if they free range the wild animals will eat them or else they could start queuing up outside the ladies fence pining and fighting! You can try any male guineas with the...
I wouldn't worry about size as Cayugas and Swedes are both big ducks, but Welsh Harlequins are smaller so watch out.
I'm glad you chose rarer breeds (do you follow Fresh Eggs Daily, perhaps?). You could crossbreed them too; they should be interesting.
For your criteria I would suggest an American Pekin duck. If you live here in Europe however, Pekins are a different breed and the Aylesbury would be our equivalent of the American Pekin.
These are the big, traditional white farm duck. They are dual purpose (eggs & meat) and are friendly...
Geese are excellent grazers and you will love their huge eggs! I think that around four geese could keep this land under control. They are not good fliers so a very low wire fence that you step over works excellently to keep them in area and is inexpensive, but does not protect them from...
Sounds good... but make sure the pen is completely proof against weasels and foxes, as even geese won't be able to fight them off. If you do have to downsize, geese don't need a pool at night.
Have fun... and enjoy those huge goose eggs!
