Sick Chicken, Possibly Vent Gleet? Bare underside, fluffed out, lethargic.

Thanks @PD-Riverman ! I started her today. Yesterday wouldn't have been an option, since I needed to get to a supply store to pick up the meds. Hopefully this helps. I appreciate everyone's help in diagnosing and navigating. This is the first bird I've had get REALLY sick. Was bound to happen...

There is no egg. Although I have now had my finger in her vent twice now in her life.. she may be expecting a fancy dinner from me soon Should I try the Tylan today?

I'd say a two... and she just pooped while I was touching her, it was completely clear water.

Sick Chicken, Possibly Vent Gleet? Bare underside, fluffed out, lethargic.

@casportpony Of course I completely cleaned out her straw a few hours ago. If she poops before I go to bed I will post a picture. It's 80% water and a brown mostly solid turd in the middle. Three days ago, when I pulled her in the house she pooped a completely white foamy and watery poop. No...

Sick Chicken, Possibly Vent Gleet? Bare underside, fluffed out, lethargic.

@casportpony - I know she laid an egg a little over a week ago. She may have laid since then, but with 22 it can get a little tough to know who is laying when. @PD-Riverman - I completely agree with not going to the vet... I was thinking it may be time to do an antibiotic - since the...

Sick Chicken, Possibly Vent Gleet? Bare underside, fluffed out, lethargic.

I have a two year old Buff Orpington who has been in the house in the "sick cage" for three days. Her symptoms haven't gotten worse, but she's not improving a ton either. She's got a bit of a history with her back end. Multiple times she had crusty poop back there over the past 6-8 months...

Hobbled Chicken - Need Some Advice

Hello - looking for some suggestions to help with a light brahma whose in sad shape. It all started with a bad bout of scaly leg mites. She (Bloody Mary) was the worst hit, to the point where she was not walking. This was about two months ago. We vigilantly treated the whole flock (still are)...

    Two suspect Roos!?!?

I've heard the same about speckled sussex. Mine has the same cupping and my other ladies have no comb or waddles yet. They are all a little over 5 weeks old.

    Two suspect Roos!?!?

This is my second year raising chicks and in this batch I have two rather suspect chickens that I think may be Roos, a speckled Sussex and a giant blue cochin. I have pics below, the other SSs and cochins do not have comb and waddle development. Here is the suspect SS Here is a female SS...

post your chicken coop pictures here!

@bigred77 - we had the stucco wire left over and figured it couldn't hurt to the bottom. Since we used OSB instead of plywood, we knew the flooring could be a bit easier to chew through. Mostly concerned about rats looking for a nice meal of chicken feed. Might have been a little overkill, but...
