Hello, thank you! Have tried the beak dip but no luck. Doesn’t seem to be getting the hang! The eggs I removed were from a different clutch, they have gone into the incubator.
Finally a chick! I hatched a single and put straight under broody. Broody seems to have accepted, it is her first time. Chick hatched yest morning. Broody is making all the right sounds and is keeping chick warm. Seems to be showing her how to eat. Clucking gently. Broody and chick have not left...
Hi! Finally! Success! An egg about to hatch, - just the one. I have a very broody hen and want chick to go under her. However, must broody come inside? She has a coop set up away from flock which she is happy in. I’m hoping she can raise it in there but will it be warm enough under her? I am...
Hello! Nope! Opened it on day 27 in it, and it was a gunky black mess with the most awful smell, I’ve got a few in the incubator now and I’m finally seeing veins for the first time - good luck for your hatch!! X

Does this look any good? No wooden box but I have put this in…hoping I’ve not disturbed her too much, she is looking confused! Hopefully an improvement tho?
This is brilliant advice thanks ever so. I’ve just this second added more hay… and will weight her to gauge any loss. Much appreciate the time taken to reply!
No, the ones under her currently are showing no signs of development at day 7, and she has some duck eggs under her due to hatch in 27 days. I have one promising egg in incubator due to hatch on 24th. Others in incubator not looking viable. I am collecting a clutch tomorrow in person so as to...
Thank you, yes I’m keen to persevere. I would love to see her raise a brood and it seems to be what she wants. I’m convinced it is broodiness and not something else as she is doing all the right things. We’re just very fond of her and don’t want to see her suffer and get thin as she has been...
