You want as high a protein content as possible. Purina's Startina is really good. It is a little expensive but it is what most people that I have talked to recommend. You can find it at Family Farm and Home or Tractor Supply or any other Farm feed store I am sure.

If the hens are to stressed they will lay fewer eggs. What is your roo to hen ratio? From what I can tell it shouldn't be less than 1 to 4.
