Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

I'm the first to admit I'm not an expert on chooks, but i'd bet money on her being a chicken and not a rooster by the way she looks... She/he may be a late developer though and if it crows it's certainly not a girl... :/ Keep us posted as to how you go...

Help me! My duck eggs were rocking and I think I killed them in lockdown!!

Ok, so my chicken now has 5 ducklings and 1 more egg that's jiggling.... Winston (the first one who is now a week and a half) is so big compared to the other babies... We did have to open up and help one baby out though. He got his beak out and I waited 2 days and nothing was happening so I took...

Help me! My duck eggs were rocking and I think I killed them in lockdown!!

I was trying! I was going to calibrate it after it had been up and running for a few days and it had settled a bit... but my hen decided it was a good day to get off her eggs but, i have some something.... I think i have external pipping on an egg.. I could see the base of the egg bulging, for...

Help me! My duck eggs were rocking and I think I killed them in lockdown!!

There has been no movement in any eggs for over 36 ours now... I'm 99% sure they are dead.. As the incubator is new I figure it's pretty close to being right, but I was only running it for a day or so before the hen chucked the eggs out and I didn't have time to calibrate much at all... I don't...

Help me! My duck eggs were rocking and I think I killed them in lockdown!!

I'm so new to this!! I wish my chook was a little more patient!! I opened the incubator earlier, I did a swift open, grab and close maneuver and didn't lose much humidity or temperature, I quickly candled the egg and put it back with similar precision and (remembering I'm a total novice) I...

    Eggs stopped rocking

Im in the same situation at the moment... I upped the humidity yesterday and now they have stopped rocking!!! I hope I didn't kill them!! I keep looking in at them through my peep hole in the incubator but am worried that there has been no movement in 12 hours or so... I am desperate to open...

Help me! My duck eggs were rocking and I think I killed them in lockdown!!

Thanks for the reply!! Yes I did and all were alive (we did have 1 infertile egg and 1 underdeveloped egg around week 3 so we removed them) Also there was no internal pipping when I looked... Gosh I hope I haven't killed them now... Is there anything else I can do? I'm not exactly sure of...

Help me! My duck eggs were rocking and I think I killed them in lockdown!!

My Broody hen (chook) chucked my 5 duck eggs out from under her last night, I had the incubator up & running (testing it out, it's new) so I chucked the eggs in there... Then the confusion came... I googled rocking eggs and almost everything I read said to up the humidity to 70% - 80% and wait...
