The old welsummer eggs are due to hatch on Friday in the bator with some RIR Eggs. Got to view the parents of the ones yesterday so am please to know i definately have the right ones now and we will see what comes out of the other ones.

Ive just set half a dozen fertile eggs (4 Minora eggs and 2 White leghorn eggs) under my neighbors broody Sussex hen and have another 11 fertile eggs (6 Minorca eggs, 4 White Leghorn eggs and 1 Lavender Blue Araucana egg) under my Red Sex-Link (Isa Brown) broody hen at home. Due to hatch on the 18/11/12.

Good luck with your welsummer eggs satay, glad you got some better ones.

Thanks Luke good luck with your eggs too. I had leghorns when we first moved here. They were lovely girls. Have none left now due to a dog attack years ago. Don't forget to post picks when they hatch.

Hey I cant wait to see what the others are ! Lots of Pics Satay

I heard that foxes and a few snakes have been up to the ridge (oh 500m away from my place) attacking peoples chooks in the past 3 weeks and a hawk too.......

Probably a good time to check the security of your coops and fencing !

My Big black girl is Broody ! I used water to get her out of the nesting box last night and this morning. She was hungry because she

stayed out to eat and drink so I hope shes not back in the box when I get home ! Other than blocking the nest/egg box or giving her some

eggs, what else can I do to perswade her not to brood ?

She is mean on her best day Now she is down right nasty piece of work..........

HELP !

I put my broody's in a separate cage with no nesting box, just feed and give her water as you would do if she was in the rest of the flock, may take up to a week.
