How important is having a top on the run?

Just got mine done, and I did cover it. We have hawks, eagles and racoons. Just wanted to be safe. Take care all. Mike

Tell me about shotguns (and a little about pellet guns)

Words of advise to all who have guns... Stock pile on ammo... Besides the fact of rising prices for ammo, there are those in high places that would like to hinder the sale thereof... If you reload, better yet. Mike

I think the politicians should RFID chip themselves, and maybe their spouses could keep track of 'em easier... Just a thought.... Mike:bun

    Roost

I'm still real green at this. Just got my coop built, and I was wondering if the roost needs to be round, or can you use something like a 2X2 or a 2X4? Thanks for the help. Mike

    Thermostat in the coop

P.S. Looks like you may be using something different, so let me know if you need a schematic. And if so, what heater voltage/wattage are you going to be using? Mike

    Thermostat in the coop

Hey Big Charlie: I'm new to chickens, but am a licensed electrician. I'll draw you a basic schematic for wiring a thermostat for heating, and a separate one for cooling. I'll e-mail it to you. It's real easy to do. Not too expensive either. Take care, Mike
