Hi Guys,
My 6 month old hen is meant to be a FCM although Im suspect. She has just started laying, she did no develop any copper around her neck and her eggs are not exactly that dark.
Please let me know what you think.

p.s. her egg is on the left
Hi,
I'm afraid to say that your hen is definitely not 100% Silver Laced Wyandotte - theres a mix going on here. Have you checked her for mites? Near her vent is a good place to start? Could she be stressed? Have you seen her pecking her feathers or over grooming? Is there a Rooster running...
But am I right in thinking that a 100% pure breed Silver Laced Wyandotte Rooster bred with a 100% Silver Laced Wyandotte hen will not always have 100% Silver colour.... you'll only get something like 50% and the rest could be gold or buff?
This might be a silly question...but I'm wondering the colour outcome when Silver Laced Wyandotte hens are crossed with Gold Laced Wyandotte Hens.
and also if Silver Laced Wyandotte hens were crossed with a Blue Laced Red Wyandotte Rooster.
Also are the progeny still considering "Full Bred"...
I got her from a guy who sold me a full breed silver wyandotte hen with 3 chicks afoot. 1 light sussex roo chick, 1 light sussex hen chick and this little girl. They are now about 9/10 weeks old. So she obviously has a lot of growing to do. But shes very different. He just said "oh shes a mix...
Thanks for your detailed response - Much Appreciated. This is what they get:

I have a stable door with mesh wiring all over it - with 4 stone walls.... I think its pretty secure... Thats a bit judgy "shed obviously not secure"... My location is North West Ireland. We do not have coons or possums. So the only explanation is rats. Although I have traps down and have caught...
