    Hi Guys, My 6 month old hen is meant to be a FCM although Im suspect. She has just started laying, she did no develop any copper around her neck and her eggs are not exactly that dark. Please let me know what you think. KJC p.s. her egg is on the left

    Hi, I'm afraid to say that your hen is definitely not 100% Silver Laced Wyandotte - theres a mix going on here. Have you checked her for mites? Near her vent is a good place to start? Could she be stressed? Have you seen her pecking her feathers or over grooming? Is there a Rooster running...

    But am I right in thinking that a 100% pure breed Silver Laced Wyandotte Rooster bred with a 100% Silver Laced Wyandotte hen will not always have 100% Silver colour.... you'll only get something like 50% and the rest could be gold or buff?
