I have adopted a grain free diet and was wondering just how necessary it is to feed my chickens (and Indian Runner ducks) feed with grain in them? They are out on pasture all day foraging for bugs and such. We give them lots of treats like watermelon and worms we dig up... Any advice is...

Watermelon and cooked spaghetti noodles!! My boy runner duck (aptly named 'Duck duck duck') comes running everytime I come outside!! The same is not true when my 5 year old son comes out ha ha. Your duck will warm up, just keep spoiling him ;)

We got our chickens 3/10/13 from Zamzows. I *think one is a rooster, but he hasn't actually cockledoodle-dood and none of the chickens are laying yet. How do tell the difference? They are all different breeds so it's hard to compare. She/he is the red one in the middle.
