    Need chicken environment enrichment

I give my chickens flock block from tractor supply (or you can diy) and it lasts them a couple weeks. I also have different things in the coop, like a mirror, a wooden ladder, old chicken coop inside the run that they like to play with, and I’ve also recently taken shelf brackets and installed...

    New intro

Thanks for the advice! I can’t find the integration link after searching. For the roos, I planned on keeping one just because I like to hear him, until he becomes a problem I was going to hold on to him. The other ones I plan to sell at the local farm auction.

    New intro

Hello! I keep forgetting to post my introduction. I recently decided to hatch chickens with my children and I’m so glad I did! BYC has been such a great help with this experience. I only hatched three, of which I received 1 white rock, 1 buff, and 1 welsummer roo. Shortly after these guys, I...

    Polish With Mohawk?!

When I was sexing my polish chicks I came across this good blog on BYC. https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/pointers-on-sexing-polish-chicks-new-pics.149215/ It’s nice cause it shows pictures of males and females. The blue crested looks like pullet I’d say. Not certain about the top black...

Thank you! I’m so pleased with the variety!

    Assortment: roo or pullet?!

The ones in the back are a polish and two Easter Eggers. Those ones I’m 97% sure they are pullets. Then I’ve got a brown leghorn in the back who without a doubt is a roo. He has a larger comb then my 11 week roo. Blue laced looks like a pullet to me but I’m new at this so I don’t know for sure.

    Assortment: roo or pullet?!

Darn. That’s what I figured. I received them from a friend, she hatched some and ordered some from a hatchery. She doesn’t know which is which. From the photos she sent of the hatchery ones, I believe this is one she hatched herself. At approximately a week old this one did have a fairly large...

    Assortment: roo or pullet?!

At this point they are just about 8 weeks old. The leghorn, gl, and 1 Columbian are definitely males. I think 1 columbian & the blue laced are pullets. Still unsure about the barred rock. What do you all think? The golden laced & blue laced The columbian: (pullet left and cockerel right...

    Assortment: roo or pullet?!

    Assortment: roo or pullet?!

Thank you!! Any ideas on the breed for the ones below? I wasn’t sure if these ones were Easter Eggers cause the dark feet and varying patterns?

    Assortment: roo or pullet?!

The reason I question the Colombian being a pullet is because the other Colombian is a roo. What do you think, still roo? This is the one from the pictures above: This is them together:the one from above is on the left And here on the right:

Good eye. I didn’t even consider that but now that you mention it, it does look a lot like a Wyandotte. She just started developing her red patterns.

    Assortment: roo or pullet?!

Thank you all! Out of these ten, I guessed I had around 4-5 roosters. I have another one that’s not even posted. They are beautiful and very friendly since they are constantly handled by my kids. I will post in another couple weeks to give an update!

    Assortment: roo or pullet?!

Hi all, i love reading these threads so I figured I’d post as a first time chicken owner to see what y’all think. I recently got an assortment of various chicks from a friend and could use some help identifying them. They are just about 5 weeks old at this point. I know it’s still a little...
