I have been letting BigUms out with the girls for a bit with supervision of course. Salt (queen of the roost) she keeps him in check and the other youngest he dose fine with but the EE's and the barred rocks not so much and they are scared of him!! which is understandable since he will chase...
they see each other everyday His run is right next to their run :-) but when i let the girls out to run around the back yard he is not out in the back yard but they all stand at his door like what your not gonna come out and play.... LOL

On a brighter note made Cowboy pickled eggs. Made just a small batch wanted to try them out. The girls are given us about 6-7 eggs a day now not bad since 1 girl RIR BigRed is now almost 5 years old. (oh I have 11 girls by the way) I think she maybe done laying but I do catch her in the coop...
I think we are gonna lose one of our girls she not looking to good. I went out to feed them this morning and she was missing... I found her still in the coop on the roosting bar. so i reached in and grabbed her and was shocked to see how big her belly is!!!! and squishy!! pretty sure it's water...
want try my hand at new chicks my roo is now about 9 months old and he good to some of the girls ( he a piece of work) he is mean to the old girls so was thinking just let him out with the younger chicks jf they are under a year old should you hatch their eggs??
My girls love anything that is white, white flowers, cauliflower styrofoam (LOL-of course I don't let them have it but if its around they will grab it and run!!!)
