Thnx for the feedback! I installed another wheel on the opposite side, or in tandem if you will, from the other. It increased the "footprint" and prevents it from getting bogged down in soft ground and enables it to move easier by increasing its wheel-base. So far it works better. Time will...
Hi Folks,
I recently acquired a tractor that has substandard wheels (6"x1") which makes it very difficult to move around.
I'm trying to remember high school physics and want to add a larger diameter wheel so that it rolls easier. Maybe wider too?
Any thoughts??
Lizanne, after I posted that query I read another thread that summed up your response. Appreciate the insight....you saved me a bunch of time, effort and headaches for sure. I can understand the "physical limitations" of the Roos.
I did. Put a light back on about three weeks ago nd only have gotten 4-5 eggs since then. It's been a week since man last egg and all the hens have molted and seem to be in good shape. When I go through this half bag of feed, and I don't have nah ore eggs, I'm going to have to put me in the...
Had my six hens for the third year and about two months ago egg production stopped. Have had a light on in the early AM for a week now and only getting one egg every other day. Am I to expect that they are done laying altogether???
I've downloaded a few free apps with no problem. The credit card info comes up under a BYC banner. Don't remember the exact wording, but it says in case I want to make a purchase the info is loaded.
Had great success with 10 birds earlier as a trial run. Raised them in a cardboard refrigerator box until they were ready to go out in the coop. Box cost was zero and accommodated their age progression (partitioned off a third of the box at a time). Butchered half of them at 7 weeks and the...
I need some insight. I have 7 hens that were laying anywhere from 5-7 eggs a day until about two months ago. They all molted and now I get 1-2 eggs every other day. I'm thinking of putting a light bulb in their coop and have it timed to turn on about two hours prior to sunrise.
Thoughts...
All noted. Perhaps I'll pick up a small bag of grower/finisher and then get to the Layer when they....lay. My only reservation is losing a months worth of eggs during the transition as the feeding guidelines prescribe the Layer 30 days out for "human consumption". What does that really mean...
I have 4 barred rocks and 4 buffs that are about 14 weeks old. They are all hens with expected egg laying in a couple of months or so. I'm just about out of starter grower and purchased crumble egg layer figuring that I won't use much of the previous. I've not read anywhere that I have to or...
Skinning---heard of it and want to know if it's easier and cleaner than plucking. Have 10 Cross X's three weeks out from the freezer and want to know some methods.
Thnx
Thnx all! As I'll be raising two batches of meat birds, this first will be straight 20% and the next will get a dose of cracked corn 5 days prior to seeing the cone.
