Hickory nut help!
Hoping someone here has some experience with this. We just moved on to a new property that has multiple mature hickory trees. That's interesting because my rouen is currently the smallest of the 3. How long does it take for them to be full size? It's possible he might be a bit younger. -

I think the consensus was that 2 is a rouen. Mallards might have a lighter spot/line that seems to fade. My little guy with 2 stripes still has 2. The others only 1 with a spot on their "cheek". -

Preditor was my thought as well. Thankfully they are an alert and quick little bunch on the water, but I do worry. We would like to keep them free range, but the pond might have to be off limits.
