I have 2 chicks. One is 3 weeks today the other is around 1 week. I put the young one in when it was a few days old and they are perfectly fine. The little one actually gets UNDER my 3 week old and sleeps under her like she is a momma. I don't think it is recommended but mine were fine. Wait for...
Here is a few pics of the little baby Taylor that Serena thinks is hers and some growing pics of Serena. Taylor may be a boy or girl so the name will fit when we know haha. St Runs are great. First thing in the morning I opened the brooder and Serena came flying out to check it out. She later...
I am using the same kind. I got a 100w ceramic heat emitter from Petco. Cost me 40 bucks but it was well worth it. The chicks are up all day with it and a 50w heat bulb, then when the light goes out they also make hella noise for 5-10 minutes and finally sleep. It's great. The red bulb all night...
Recently my Blue Marans passed and I have had a black silkie in quarantine. I finally put the silkie in with my leghorn (who is 2 weeks) and the silkie and leghorn act like momma and chick. My silkie will force her way under the leghorn and the leghorn will slowly nest over her. It's the cutest...
I voted #3. He is a good looking Roo and it seams he is a calm and nice rooster, and also has/see's the potential for breeding (if you want it).
#2 would be my next choice.
Our cat is deathly afraid of our chicks. Even when they were here at 2-3 days old the cat came in and sniffed, seen one move and hasn't come into our bedroom since. Cats outside are a different story. Our crazy neighbor has like 6-7 cats that wander the neighborhood daily. I would not trust...
Onyxia didn't do well through the night. The poop got better but she had thrown up and the bone/hardspot under her right wing was protruding a lot more. Wasn't drinking and was just laying on her side breathing heavy . She is gone now. I only had her a week but I will miss her.
I have a...
Chicks still kickin and lively. The crops went to normal so I put the food back in and they ballooned right back up. Drinking and eating normal still so all looks good.
Thank you all for the help.

Nothing other than starter and their water. Sometimes I read into things too much and scare myself. So it be me over obsessive paranoia. I also noticed the cecal poo isn't always brown like this on that site. They have had some very wet light poop once or twice a day.
Edit: Yes they...

Yes that would be daily.
Ok, i thought so. Just to note, this is the 1st day this has happened. I check/clean the poop out a few times daily and change bedding once a day so it hasn't gone unnoticed, it's just the 1st time this has ever happened.
Edit: Oh and I appreciate everybody...
Uploading more pictures now. In them the poop looks more brown but in person it is orange-ish/red. Plus there is a bit of it around the cage. May have traveled by chick foot.
It says on the poo page this happened around every 8 to 10 droppings? Would this be a daily occurrence?

The temp is 85-90. They only started when I took out the feed. I know that's why they are chirping loudly. Should I place it back in or keep it out over night to see if the crops go down in size?
