    Also, she makes a weird sound every time she poops. It sounds airy. Honestly not sure which end the sound is coming from.

    Thank you for responding. We feed her layer crumbles, but just switched to pellets. Occasional yogurt and seeds for treats. Frozen watermelon on days that are over 95 degrees. Her weight dropped so she got scrambled eggs yesterday. Her crop always seems empty. Here are some pics I took today.

    Our sweet Betsy was just over 6 months old and had not yet laid an egg. Yesterday she spent 2 hours in the nesting box, but left nothing. This morning we found her dead in the coop. Nothing unusual about her eating/ drinking habits were observed.

    Thank you so much for leading me in the right direction. Sadly we will be unable to keep him as we are within city limits. Such a bummer because he is super sweet.
