    I found the male will protect the eggs but he won't do anything else. My female stared at eggs and was obsessed for months. Then one day she decided to sit and not get up. She's 9months old now. I think the winner was peace and quiet. I have them in a bedroom and dog crates and bushes everywhere.

    Thank you! I actually did end up moving her out of the room. Everytime the male went by the cage she looked very agitated. Since, I've put her in my bedroom closet, which she is hunkered down.

    The two birds that pecked her leg off will be rehomed to a hobby farm. There was blood all over the ones face and I can't get it out of my head, I just keep seeing a barbaric killer being a cannibal.

    She went to the vet this morning, she was septic. But luckily my vet is awesome and gave her some morphine to calm her before euthanizing. Thanks for all the input though, I do appreciate the time. It will be live and learn through the coming times.

    Good news so far is her appetite is increasing immensely, activity is as well. She had a few minutes burst of hopping around this morning when changing her dressing,( chasing a worm). The wound is scabbing over lightly, the bone is still stuck out a bit, but I'm hoping it all scabs over it...

    Thank you, would I be able to find those antiseptic sprays at a tack store? The aspirin seems to help her breath slower which I'm assuming means less pain. I'll take a picture next time I change the dressing. The bone is sticking out a bit.

    Just did a first aid run and got some aspirin to help with the pain. Mealworms for food and she's drinking happily with assistance.
