    Moving with Chickens

I'm not moving any time soon, but it's a strong possibility for the future. (1 year). I hope that I can get a place that will allow chickens, does anybody know where to get the health certificate? I try my best to follow all the rules, and I would hate to have to turn over my girls to a random...

Hens have learned which of us gives treats

I didn't mean that it was bad stuff on this sight! I hope it didn't sound that way. I meant that I read a lot from people who are having an issue/question and want to know the answer, instead of just a "happy thought". I don't get a lot of those, so I like to spread the happy when I can. I'm...

Hens have learned which of us gives treats

I love my hens, and it's been a blast having them in my backyard. We kept them in the coop (with a run) for a few months, mostly because I was afraid of what my dogs would do, and what my many neighbor dogs would do. Unfortunately, one morning, I let my dogs out, started coffee, and then got my...

Hens from two different flocks aren't getting along

First Things first I had 4 chickens i bought from a farm that I'm not happy about. They didn't tell me that the chickens had the tips if their beaks removed, and once i got them home and in the coop they didn't act like normal chickens. They would just stare at worms as they crawled away :/...

Trying to figure out if we have males

So, my chicks are getting a little bigger, and even though they are all within a day (age wise) of each other, I have two that are significantly bigger than the others. They are all Starting to try and fly around their little coop, and now these two fly into each other, with their cheats out...

When is it ok to bathe chicks?

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but the underside of my chicks is dirty. Filthy in my opinion. One chick will poop and another just goes and sits right in it. When would be appropriate to bathe them, and what would be the best procedure? They are about 3 weeks old right now. Thank you!

    MARYLAND THREAD!

    MARYLAND THREAD!

I was wondering if there's anybody on here in the Glen Burnie / Pasadena area. I'm making a coop, and I don't plan on letting them run free all day, but I was wondering if anybody had issues with hawks or other predators. Mine aren't ready for outside yet, but I was thinking that on warm days...
