    We have that happen sometimes, and end up having to move the momma to a different pen after hatching. Messes with the plan to have different kinds in different pens, but... the momma will find a place in the new family. I sneak her in late @ night.

    I love reading about this! We are new to this, have 2 plymouth hens and 1 roo. Incubated eggs and have 4 chicks about 1 month old. Looking @the them I cant imagine butchering them in another month. They are the same size as our other breeds. What are the ratios for grinding your own feed?

    Found a pile of eggs.. outside...

    It is frustrating for me, my girls have ample nesting boxes and yet they line up to lay in 1the specific box. Im guessing it is warmed up and has already been smooshed about into that perfect bowl shape?
