Yes I have three roosters. She has been on the nest every time I checked on her today and she is sleeping there tonight. I guess I will wait a few weeks and see what happens.
About two months ago my hens (they free range) left their nesting boxes in the coop and began laying eggs in the hay in my barn. I collected them as usual and all was well until about two weeks ago when I noticed a dramatic decrease in the amount of eggs I got daily until there were no eggs...
My hen has been laying eggs almost daily for 2-3 months now. She sits on them most of the day. However, none of them have hatched. Is there something I can do to help this? I don't have an incubator so u can't put them in there.
I have an 8 week old buckling and an 8 week old doeling. The boy usually pays her no attention except to play but he has started smelling her a lot now and trying to hump her. Their separated pens will be built in about two weeks. Will it be safe to leave them together until then or should I try...
I have some deleware chickens that are 3 months old and I can't tell if they are hens or roosters. Can anyone post pics of yours so I can compare? Also if you have red sex linked chickens I would like some of those hens and roosters too please!!! Thanks!!!
Yes that is what I am asking...I just don't want my dairy goats that I have paid a lot of money for to contract a disease (I know for sure right now they are negative) because I gave them milk containing a disease.
My vet is supposed to be contacting them about paying for his treatment since he has been given it every month even in winter so I'm hoping they will pay. He also had roundworms which the pill also supposedly covers but we have treated those now so maybe we are finished with that problem at least :(
My kids have been getting whole milk from the store since I bought them and they are thriving. A local farmer has given me excess milk from one of his cows. Is there any reason to pasteurize this milk? Can diseases be passed from cows to goats? Thanks!
