The one in cove took it back but would not give me anything for it even a credit. In fact they were pretty rude about it but I had to get rid of him quick since he was crowing quite boistrously.

I re looked and whilst I can't find the exact ordinance I think the coop needs to be 100 yards away from poperty line. My lot is not that big so that is an impossible stipulation. besides I don't have a coop just a covered dog kennel that some stray birds decided to roost in.

Who told you chickens were illegal here? The info I got was up to ten hens...no roos...coop ten meters from property line.

Hi all. I bought four hens from the cove feed store and 5 months later one turns out to be a roo. I am a complete noob but my chickens seems to be heathy and learning to eat free range foods. The dogs get along with them now and my biggest problem is chicken putty on the back patio as they hang...

Chickens up to ten are legal in killeen, no roos tho and technically the coop needs to be ten meters from property line (I'm not in compliance there). I just found out I have a roo so I need to get rid of him somehow.

Thanks I was afraid of that the kids are going to be upset and I'm not sure what to do with him now.

The kids naming it peachey guy when I thought they were all hen chicks might have been a bit of forshadowing of the bad news. Still I jave my fingers crossed I might be wrong and just have a boyish girl.

Pretty sure peachy guy (kids named it) is a roo and needs to be relocated but not sure. It is 18ish weeks old no spurs and I heard it try to crow. It is a easter egger I think.
