Thin eggs and low production in 2 y/o hens

We don't already have it. I saw to use the liquid for 3 days and repeat in 14 days for another 3 days. Then they were talking about too how you have to go out several times during the day and "swirl" the water to remix the solution. I have a condition that causes me to sleep 14 to 18 hours per...

Thin eggs and low production in 2 y/o hens

13 chickens total, 12 hens and a rooster. I think we are just going to do the paste. We have to catch them to look them over anyway. The silkies need their nails trimmed and the rooster needs de-spurring again. Several of the pages I have read said that they can cause weakened shells and low...

WORMING with Fenbendazole - - How much?

Ok so Im confused... I got the 3cc Safeguard per gallon for 3 days and the 10-14 day egg toss. Am I supposed to repeat it or no? This isn't routine deworming. I have seen worms in the stool.

Figured it out. They have cecal worms. Saw them in their feces today. Where do I get Fenbendazole and how do I give it?

Thin eggs and low production in 2 y/o hens

I think from now on, when we get more chickens (in a few years) I will stick with cochin bantams. Other than their constant broodiness, they have been the most consistent layers. And if I get another cochin bantam roo that isn't useless like this one, maybe I can let them raise chicks. Poor...

Thin eggs and low production in 2 y/o hens

One more question... We have an Easter egger bantam and an Olive Egger mix that literally stop production for weeks/months at a time and then out of the blue will start laying every single day. Why? They seem totally healthy.

I refuse to buy feed that is over a month old. We once went to three places to find fresh food. Lol

Yes I put a little out each day so they don't poop in it and its always almost gone the next morning.

Thin eggs and low production in 2 y/o hens

Like the topic header says, I have 12 two year old hens. I am lucky if I get 2 eggs a day. The shells are often so thin on the large eggs that they crack when I pick them up or rinse them off, or a chicken steps on them before I get to them and breaks them open. I don't think its an intentional...

    ISO Frizzled Polish Hatching Eggs

I'm looking for Frizzled Polish Hatching Eggs. I'm located near Louisville, KY, so if you have some, but you're not near here, I'll need to have them shipped. Not quite ready yet as I still need to get the incubator set up, but I wanted to put out feelers and find someone so I can just buy...

    No Crow Rooster collar

So I **ASKED** mom before I got Ollie and now she's telling me that I have to get rid of him because he crows all the time. We tried to find out by calling city hall and the zoning people if we could have chickens before we got them. Nobody knew, so we just got them. Mom is afraid that if...

Cochin Bantams and Frizzle Cochin Bantams!!

So I can't do a pen with a red rooster and red, buff, and golden laced hens and another pen with a black rooster with mottled, blue, and barred hens and keep the lines separate?

Cochin Bantams and Frizzle Cochin Bantams!!

I posted in my own thread a couple of days ago (I didn't see this thread), but I haven't gotten any responses. I'm wanting to start my own breeding pens (three of them). One with a white frizzle roo, one with a black frizzle roo, and one with a red frizzle roo. I would like to put two or...
