Thin eggs and low production in 2 y/o hens

Hmm didn't think cecal worms were visible to the naked human eye?
@casportpony ??
They are super hard to see.

Figured it out. They have cecal worms. Saw them in their feces today. Where do I get Fenbendazole and how do I give it?
How many chickens do you want to treat? The 3 cc per gallon amount that you mentioned in the other thread will not treat cecal worms.

13 chickens total, 12 hens and a rooster. I think we are just going to do the paste. We have to catch them to look them over anyway. The silkies need their nails trimmed and the rooster needs de-spurring again.

Several of the pages I have read said that they can cause weakened shells and low egg production. Something about the inflammation they cause, although Im not sure how that affects the reproductive system, and the nutrients they steal.

Why use the paste if you already have the liquid goat wormer?

We don't already have it. I saw to use the liquid for 3 days and repeat in 14 days for another 3 days. Then they were talking about too how you have to go out several times during the day and "swirl" the water to remix the solution. I have a condition that causes me to sleep 14 to 18 hours per day, so Im how sure how effective that's going to be. The paste is treat once. Repeat once 10 days later. Aaaand the paste is $11.49 whereas the liquid is $27.99. So that's a determining factor as well.

3 cc's in the water is not enough to cecal worms no matter how often you stir it.

The paste is only 25 grams, and one gram is equal to one ml of the liquid. There are 125 ml of liquid in the bottle of goat wormer.
One bottle of goat wormer ($27.99) = five tubes of paste (5 x 11.49 = $57.45).

Then there is the paste dosing misinformation. I'm sure you've seen all the posts and websites that say use a pea-sized amount, but a pea-sized amount is not enough for anything larger than 1 pound. :(

How much do your silkies weigh?
