    No, not thin. They are always broken on the flat side of the eggs, never the ends. By the way, since my original post there hasn't been a single cracked egg!! And she has changed nesting boxes. Still not laying in the same box as the others, but still a different box. Maybe problem solved...

    Layer pellets, oyster shells and grit is always available. As a treat I feed them cabbage, lettuce, watermelon and cantelope rind, dried meal worms. Since there are only four, I don't give them much treats at a time, and only once a day.

    Interesting you should ask. This particular hen uses a different nesting box than the other three. I keep filling it with fresh shavings, and she keeps kicking it out. Maybe I need to try a new nesting material. I currently use medium pine shavings.
