The coop itself is a 4' x 4' cube with an extension on the top so that we could angle the roof and put in windows, and a 1.5ft crawl space at the bottom so the ladies could get out of the sun/rain without having to go into the coop.
Thanks for the help and suggestions everyone. It looks like we finally broke her. I just kept putting her out into the run and closed off the nesting boxes after the other ladies layed their eggs in the morning. Eventually she gave up.
I like the water bath suggestions. I might try that. Today I decided to push her out of the coop and close the door so she couldn't get back to the nesting box. I'm not sure if a couple of hours in the run will cool her down or not. Probably not... I'll try the water bath next.
Lol...If I had a...
Ok, another question. If I keep pushing her out of the nesting box will that eventually break her or do I have to use the wire cage method? I don't have a wire cage and really don't want to have to go buy one. Are there any other methods to break her broodiness? Thanks!
he's no smaller than the rest.
I think this one might be an Old English game though, she's smaller than the rest..

I thought he was a boy but had some doubts since his comb hadn't turned red like the others. I've never heard of a Sicilian Buttercup. I'll have to look that up. Thank you.
Yesterday one of my ladies decided she wanted to be a momma. She is about a year old and this is the first time any of my ladies have gone broody so this is completely new to me. The problem is we don't have a roo; so no fertilized eggs here. Will it hurt for her to sit on something, such as a...
Both are 5 1/2 weeks old. I know the first one is a cockerel, but I don't know what breed. The second one makes noises that sound like he's trying to crow, but his "crown" is still pink, so I'm not sure if he is a boy or not; and I have no idea what kind he is either. Thanks for any help.
#5 is also in the 1st pic with the Silkie. A different view might make it easier to tell that it is.
I think #6 is a cockerel too..I just don't know what kind.
I got some assorted bantams from the tractor supply a few weeks ago. Anyone have any ideas what they might be?
The big white one is about a week older than the rest. I'm thinking Silkie for that one, but have no clue on the rest.
