ok. I know white chickens are supposed to lay white eggs... these are white pullets, no other color except for their combs & wattles - their 'ears' are white...there is no indication that they will lay brown eggs,
but
I think they are !!!
We have seen each of our 3 white pullets in the nesting...
We are close to having enough eggs to start selling.... I get a lot of questions from family & friends... & comments like "my cholesterol is already high enough"...
I want to make available a 'flyer' to put out w my eggs to provide info to my egg buyers... What would you include in a flyer?
I had bought some corn early in the season & it wasn't that great, hubby said just pitch the rest (was tough & not very tasty)
Of course I could not throw it away when i know the chickens would love love love it !!! so I tossed it in the freezer.
On those terribly hot days we just had, I...
I've searched a bit but I can't find an answer to my question:
What plants can the chickens not eat from the garden?? I'm not talking about the vegetable, I'm talking the leaves .....
I just pulled up some beets & I know I can feed them those.... can I give the stems too?
and we'll have...
We use a 5 gal bucket with 3 nipples in the bottom. 2 would have been enough, since the chicken only use the same 2 all the time. I kept them out at the edge so if I had to put the bucket down, I could rest it on a tree stump that's nearby and not damage the nipples. the nipples do not leak but...

I do have issues with them out in the run, so I spray down that area every day, making sure to hit all the poop spots really good. No poop = no flys...
We love love love using the nipples! We have a 5 gallon bucket, put 3 nipples in the bottom, fill it up, put the lid on, hang it in the run.
Chickens are so curious, I would 'ring' the nipples (they kinda ring when you tap them) and the chickens came over to check it out. after one started...

sorry to hear about...
Need ideas. We need to cover our run. It's appx 16 x 20. Husband wants something that will not require a lot of lumber as we are almost out of what we have.
It has to keep out hawks, raccoons, etc.
We are going camping for 5 days in July and want to leave the chicken door open so the...
we probably spent $300....but a lot of materials we got used from friends & family. We tried recycling as much as possible to keep cost down and, obviously to keep things out of the landfill. Ask around. Check the groups on Facebook in your area (we have one called 'Traders Place' for our...
